Default Choosing a Soldering/Desoldering gun.

Ebay seems to have some decent deals on used Hakko units.
Anyone have any other suggestions for a decent low $$$ gun.

TIA,
Dave

(hoping JD will give some insight here..... )

Does it have to be a gun? I have a variable temp Weller Iron that I'm nothing but happy with.

Weller is super common... their prices are therefore cheap, and you can actually find tips and misc parts for Weller units in any electronics boutique unlike the Hakko ---- Hondata jocks... nothing wrong with Hakko, mind, you just have to mailorder everything ahead of time.

Actually, check out partsexpress.com . I think I paid like $35-$40 bucks for it. It's been like a year, so I can't remember. I know it wasn't that much.
