You'll be fine running it there. I beleive I've got my external gate hooked to the same type of port.

You can use the source from the compressor or from the mani here is the difference. The wastegate will open at whcihever point see its set psi...meaning if you use the compressor it will open when the compressor side sees 7 psi for example, if you use the mani it will open when the mani sees 7psi. You may ask what the difference is well you need to acount for pressure loss from the air traveling through charge pipping and intercooler, it may not be a big loss but it something to think about.

I currently have mine connected to the turbo but once i get my tial and connecting it to the mani.

You are doing that to make up for the air travel? Just making sure. This is something new to me

I have mine connected to my compressor...

I am loosing about 1 - 1.5 psi through the piping and intercooler ( I have my boost gauge reading from my IM)

I am eventually going to get a vacuum manifold so I can run my BOV, wastegate, and boost gauge from the same source, but for now it works fine...

I think ideally the wastegate should read the amount of pressure in the IM, not at the compressor, so hooking it up to the IM is the better way to go... unless you are just lazy like me..
