I read abaz's writeup and it was pretty detailed but i just cannot get these bolts loose for the life of me. I hosed them down with wd-40 waited 10 minuted and tried with 1/2 boxend wrench and they wouldnt even budge. So i hose them again and waited 10 minutes and i tried the quick snap/jolt and the bolt snapped in half. Now im just pissed off its either im a dumbass thats doing it wrong or this turbo is JACKED!

 

Ya i found the link before i even tried it and remembered everything. The thing is i cant even get the bolt to budge and i dont want to break another bolt.

 

tried putting it in the oven for 10 minutes at 180 degrees? I've done that before and it works purdy good mang. It helps if you do that, and then put penetrating lube on it. It supposedly removes moisture, and if you lube it while it cools, it will "suck" the lube into the threads. (in theory)

 

Ya ima try that one next. The bolts are so tight the wrench keeps slipping off and i tried 2 diff 1/2 wrench's. And the bolts are'nt stripped (yet). Ima try this ---- now.

 

Why not try heating around where the bolts go in with a propane torch? Works for me.

use a combination of some penetrating oil (i like stuff called pb blaster), use the propane torch to heat it up, and use some ez outs to try to turn it. that's my ultimate solution to getting out stuck bolts. if that doesn't work, time to turn to the sawzall... :P using all three, my experience has been if it will come out at all, that's gonna get it out. if not, you're gona have to cut it out. period.

 

Impact driver is your friend

 

Get a box end and a hammer. Put some penetrating oil on there, then put the turbo in a vice, get the box end on, and smack it as hard as ya can.
