Which way to run oil line?

I see most of the setups with the oil feed line running over the top around the engine on the driver's side. I was planning on running it underneath the oil pan. Is this a bad idea?

I guess I dont see a problem with it like that, but it maybe a bit close to the heat from the downpipe. Just run it on the LH or RH side, they work just fine.
