99 civic ex tranny. when I'm normal driving, my 3rd gear sometimes pops out and grinds. and in 2nd gear when I'm at about 5000 rpm and then I take my foot of the gas suddenly it'll pop out. the engine force pops it out of gear. sounds horrible. not sure how to check the gear oil, could it be that? or maybe my gears are so grinded down they're lose. maybe bent fork? what do you guys think?

 

its time for a new tranny. you could check your tranny fluid, it might not be full. but im still goin with a new tranny

 

For one wrong forum. If the damage is done which sounds like it is adding or changing fluid will do very little. It's worth a try. No way to check fluid levels on the trans. Drain it add 2 quarts of oil yes oil not gear oil honda trans use motor oil . Dont use synthetic use a cheaper thicker oil. I have noticed my trans lasted longer using a normal oil over synthetic.

 

Sounds like a broken shift fork.
