Painting an intercooler
I want to paint my intercooler black so that my car will be a complete sleeper. How would I go about doing that? Do I need hi temp paint? Does painting ---- up how well the intercooler will work?

That's actually a good question..
My roommate researched it and certain paints will abosorb the heat and not dissipate(sp?) it like it should. Also, take into effect how thick the paint is.. it start to fill in the fins and not let the air flow through as well.
I can't remember what he said, but there are some specifications on what type (grade?) paint to use. Anyone know the specifics?

Go to this site:

And search for item # 10040 Z (can't direct link to it)
Clean off your intercooler with some lacquer thinner and use light coats-don't use a roller. Just kind of give the intercooler a little tan, not a real heavy paint job.
