Default Painting an intercooler

I want to paint my intercooler black so that my car will be a complete sleeper. How would I go about doing that? Do I need hi temp paint? Does painting ---- up how well the intercooler will work?

Most stock intercoolers come in black in most cars.
i got a nice little thick intercooler from a Chrysler Le Baron turbo and it has some sort of black coating on it.
The coating is pretty thick.

there is a company called eastmans and they sell a radiator paint which is suppose to be real thin and retain no heat i haven't tried it yet but im kinda tempted.

Go to this site:
http://www.eastwoodcompany.com/

And search for item # 10040 Z (can't direct link to it)

Clean off your intercooler with some lacquer thinner and use light coats-don't use a roller. Just kind of give the intercooler a little tan, not a real heavy paint job.

Paint shouldnt hurt the intercooler. Flat black actually disapates heat a lot better than shiny aluminum, so your intercooler will work better.
