A friend of mine has a spare ECU for me for free but it's off a 94'integra LS. it's from an automatic non vtec integra with a 7,000rpm rev limiter. i wanna know if i can chip it and run my boosted 99'si b16 and set the revlimiter to 8,000rpm and make the non vtec ECU into a vtec ecu. remember the ECU is off an automatic.

You would need an adapter harness to go from OBD2 to OBD1, then you can use the P75.

 

And you wont be able to run VTEC without a vtec controller or making modifications to the ECU.

Can you even add the VTEC circuitry to the P75 J? if my memory serves me correctly i think you can...

 

Ya, the P75 and P72 are very similar. Just add VTEC components, and run the P72 program.

..unless you have a lead on the P75 already, you should really use a PO6, and make it a "P28". They can be had for $35 or so on eBay.

 

a friends' gonna give me the p75 ecu for free. will this be worth it if my car is dyno tunned already making 247whp at 10.5psi w/.60t3, dsm 450s,vafc,6 degree timming retard?
i thought about chipping the p75 cause i could get it for free. so will converting to obd1 and chipping it be worth it comparing to what i have already? is 6degrees of ignition retarding worth the hassles of chipping that ecu? i'm using an apexxi vafc

 

You will get at least that or more with proper duno tuning.

where can i see the vtec modification i would have to do to that ecu, and does it matter that that ecu is for an automatic transmissioned car?
