need tips to get more fuel to my boosted d16y8 (the cheap way)
I got a d16y8 in my acura el..im running a ported and polished head with stock cam and stock bottom end with a 1jz supra turbo at 8 psi...I built the adapter for the manifold myself and built a down pipe and im currently using a vw passat intercooler with 2 1/2 piping for intake and 2 1/2 exhaust...it keeps throwing amap sensor code at high boost,( 6 psi or so)..I tryed tricking the map by running a vacuum line to the map with a T in the line withe a check valve on theend of the t so the map will read at vacuum and then when it gets boost it blows out the check valve,,,, which helped a lot...I can actually let it bounce off revlimit 5 or 6 times before throwin map code....before I could only hit rev limit once...any other tips on tricking my map sensor? And any tips on how to get more fuel? I already unplugged my intake air temp sensor so its reading -40c.....any other suggestions? Iwanna build this cheap as possible to make a point to the boys at work lol
Yaa im lookin for some h22a1 injectors,,, they are 345cc compared to my 240cc..I got no way of tuning it yet tho..im getting hondata s300 in 6 months or so but I wanna be able to run it till then...I havent hit the road with it yet,, I got 100 kms on it drivin aroung my shop and it seems to work great..im hittin between 8 n 10 psi in 2nd roastin the tires,,, im just worried bout it running too lean when I hit the highway or throwin the map sensor code at high speed n her fall flat on her face lol
You won't get anywhere without a proper tune. Also, there is a chance your stock MAP can read some boost (mine does, went to 0.4 bar with it) but you'll need proper ECU management. At least try a piggyback and check your AFR, you might not sense anything but it could run very lean under boost and then its a shame about the engine.
