is it normal to use a a half of quart of oil a week if you constantly rev the engine up past 6k and 7k daily? i changed my oil around 2200miles ago with nonsynthetic and i was ------- around 2 weeks ago and i noticed the oil was a little low so i put a half quart in. checked it the next week and it was little low so i put another half quart in. the guy i brought it to and asked said "i hear you everytime you drive past the shop and you alway have it in second going about 45....of course its going to burn a little oil" so yea i was just wondering if this is normal Also what kinda oil are you guys using...synthetic or regular i have a b16 with around 70k miles and i dont wanna ---- around with it until i get it running perfect

 

i use to use castrol full synthetic in my old car (93 teg), but for some reason, now i only use reg penzoil 10w30, i just feel like the synthetic is a waste of money, if you change your oil regularly, you don't need it.....

 

I redline my car more then often enough and i notice no drop in oil. (d16a6). I guess it depends on the condition of your motor.

 

yeah, i redline the ---- out of my b16 with 55k miles, and every 3k miles, the oil is still full and still looks fresh

 

what kinda oil do you guys recomand?
One day i was at autobacs, i see all these Hks,...etc branded oil for crazy prices. Are they that effective? esp like peole for racing,
