Yes every SOHC D serie Manifold are switchable

 

but will a 96 y8 fit onto a 99 y8 since they are differant OBD's?

 

As long as your will to "make stuff work" any manifold will interchange with any D-series ( minus the ZCs of course ).

You could put a DPFI manifold on a 99' Y8 if you really wanted too...

 

96-00 have teh same manifold. the OBD2a and OBD2b does not make a diffrence here.

 

sensors, sensors, sensors. that's what it really comes down to. all d series' bolt up sure, but getting them to work properly is the problem. My extra z6 mani bolts to my a6 head, but it's one sensor short of a6 mani and it relocates one sensor from side of #4 runner to back of #3 runner. not a problem, but the missing sensor.....

 

True, its a little confusing, but just make sure all your sensors have a plug plugged into them and you should be fine.
That sensor you speak of that's on the back of the Z6 intake is missing on my friends greddy turbo'd CRX, he's NEVER USED THAT SENSOR EVER, OR so he claims..

you dont need all your sensors, when I did my b16 swap I only used the sensors that throw cel, all others where forgotten, o2,map,iac, and tps. no knock, no egr, no purge.
