Default Hello from CJDubbs, Ford escort zx2

<waves>
Hello,
I joined here before but couldn't remember the name or anything like that. I don't think I posted, just read.

My name is Carl. I own teamzx2.com and have owned 3 zx2s so far, will likely own at least one more in my life. I have owned (even if briefly in some cases) 1990 dodge shadow, 1993 plymouth laser, 2005 jeep liberty, and a 2008 VW gti. I currently own my 1999 toreador red(maroon) ford escort zx2 and a 2011 Honda Fit Sport. I've had the 99 since 03 and bought it with 40k on the clock. It is about to roll 160k with the stock engine and trans. It's my baby, I like driving other cars more but it's just so damn reliable.

I have started laying out the plans for a nice easy budget build for my car for it's 200k mile birthday present :-)

The car's current mods are:
-Carbontech intake with trueflow filter(not that it matters to any of you but it's made of fiberglass and 1 of 14 made, plus it will be useless shortly anyway)
-Deburred and cleaned the openings in the MAF
-Ported the TB, tapered from the very edge to the cross sectional area of the butterfly, cut the top of a "bar" off as it was only impeding airflow, then polished the whole inside and loktited the butterfly screws back in place as they were from stock
-Ported the intake manifold TB opening to match the TB and deburred anything I could reach that looked to interfere with flow
-Ported intake manifold's flange openings and removed built up sections in each one of the runners
-VCT(Variable Cam Timing) was deleted using an adapter
-intake and exhaust adjustable cam gears (currently not running so hot at -7 intake +4 exhaust but I'm still playing)
-Fidanza flywheel and Spec stage 1 clutch
-Ford Racing plug wires, MSD coil, and double platinum plugs
-FZ Racing full length header w/ 2.5" outlet. This replaced the stock cat. It is known as the best header for the zx2 for all out high rpm power.
-2.25" mandrel exhaust from there back with a magnaflow cat, glasspack resonator, and a 4x6x10 magnaflow muffler
-Eibach springs and tokico s/r struts
-21mm rear sway bar
-Energy Suspension urethane bushings all around except the rear trans mount(made it shake too bad)
-B&M shifter, custom black tweed shift and ebrake boots, and a generic type-r style c/f kob
-Rear disc suspension swap
-drilled/slotted all around(yes, i realize, for looks) with hawk hp+ pads
-goodrich stainless braided brake and clutch lines
-volt and oil pressure gauges in a custom pod built in front of the shifter under the radio
-SCT xcal2 tuning

I'm not sure if I am missing anything important. No engine internals have been messed with thus far. I plan to build a motor to handle a bigger legit turbo setup later and I have a spare motor in my basement now in case my 200k mile present isn't well appreciated by the receiver lol.

With the mods I have now I was about to pull 142whp @ McNews Automotive. I'm hoping for a mild setup around 180-200. After owning the gti I got bit by the boost... :-/ naturally aspirated is fine and good but there is just something about that wind up.

I am first going to be working on my log manifold. I first owned a roush turbo kit for the zetec motor and that is what I am basing my log mani design on. It was el-tee-tee-tee. Turbo mounted to the final tee on the far right, wastegate flange on far left, o2 housing mated to the factory Focus downpipe. I really liked this layout so I'd like to keep to it.

The zx2 has a bit tighter engine bay than the Focus so I want a top mount turbo to avoid radiator clearance and also to be able to mount the "o2 housing" to the stock style downpipe in it's stock location. I have a 2.5" stainless catless reproduction of the stock downpipe, so it will be ideal for this situation.

All the tuning will be done at McNews Automotive and in my driveway using a wideband and SCT PRP tuning.
