Re: ZC head on a D16Y8 ???? will it work?
generally a dohc head will not fit on a sohc block. it is possible, but anything is possible really. all you need is money and knowledge. putting a zc head on a sohc block however will be a huge project, i would either go with a full zc or stick with the y8..

i think it's possible but i'm sure it's not a direct bolt on affair. The question is why would you go through all that trouble just to have 2 camshafts? I bet the y8 head could probably out flow it, and even if it can't, get a cam and some springs, tune it, and then you'll have maad SOHC VTEC power yo.

Go find a junk a1 headgasket and y8 gasket and match them up. The cylinders line up but some headbolt holes dont. It's been done but the guy had machining to do. Why though? DO you have a ZC head laying around? I mean a DOHC ZC is like the same hp as a z6 and y8. Plus you'll be low the compression side cause I'm pretty sure the combustion chambers are larger on the zc head compared to a sohc head hence why the ZC has the highest stock compression pistons to compensate for it. Honestly I don't think it's worth it.

dude the Y8 is the best head in my opinion. Higher compression, and good combustion chamber design. Plus there's a good ammount of aftermarket support for it. Or just do a home made port job
