Default z6 head y8 block

i have a full y8 and will be swapping over to a z6 head in order to have better control over ignition values using obd1... i need to know which headgasket and timing belt do i need to run?

oh nevermind.
T-belt and HG are interchangable. one of the headbolt is longer on the z6 head.
u will need the z6 dizzy to fit. or grind the legs off a 1.5 and use washers to mount.
Camshaft are not interchangable.

cool i got the right dizzy but u sure bout the timing belt? i thought the y8 head was taller.

as far as the control over ignition values... try setting the idle portion to 21.75* to get 12* at the crank. thats why. look it up if you need more info.

100% sure timing belt is interchangable becasue i`ve done it couple times going back and fotehr from both head.
and
the one on the top left hand corner (by the dizzy)might be too short and not catching enough thread or not catch any at all.

huh? I have several friends with y8 setups in obd1 that run flawlessly. ---- I even have friends running obd0 on y8's What are you talking about? Your not going to see anything special over a z6 head vs a y8

i just like the timing tables of the z6 better... plus the z6 head is a better design period. and yes theres a lil ricer in all of us it has the vtec valve cover (bling bling)

your absolutley right about the timing values being better when used with the Z6 head. the Y8 head is very sluggish compared to the Z6 when using crome or uberdata. i was gonna do the same thing but i ended up selling the car instead. i know it would have been a whole lot faster with the Z6 head and correct timing values instead of the guessed ones from the P2P maps.

if anybody is wondering what he is talking about you can read this thread.
