Well I decided to say ---- it and traded the y8 head for a z6 head straight up to keep ---- simple, will start rigging from there if need be.

It would be around that normally, but he said he was adding zc domed pistons...so he was closer in his original number.

oh, true, if he is using dohc zc pistons it will be higher than his estimate though. but i didnt even catch that.

Yeah, I was told it was a cheap easy way to gain compression and horsepower especially since the whole motor is currently apart. The big question on my mind is how well will all of this work out, when it comes to modifying ---- I have pretty much been restricted to my DSM simply because of the amount of modification you can get for the money.

hope you dont plan on running a stock ecu w/ that high compression.

Either going to get it tuned or rig a vafc on to it and hope it works, any advice on which would be the better option?

well, AFC isnt going to help the timing at all. i highly recommend a chipped ecu and dyno tune.

Wouldn't this only be true if you were mixing cam gears and cams?

Somebody PM Shreik that he doesn't need a timing light, and then PM Inquisition that I've never denied anyone help.
