Default y8 in EF problems

Ok, I just put a y8 in a 89 hatch. Stayed obd0; pm6 ecu, 88-91 SI dizzy. Everything is cool, except that I had to use washers on every bolt to mount the dizzy with the correct ignition timing. bolted to the housing the timing is way advanced. The engine timing is dead on. check a few times.

anybody have any experience putting a y8 in a EF and staying obd0? cause the only thing I can think of is running a obd2 distributor (that wont work though right?) or using the crank angle sensor on the oil pump. Cause I dont throw a crank angle sensor ( o yeah did I mention the only problem with running the dizzy like that is that I keep throwing a code 4, crank angle) if I take it easy it doesn't throw the code. any extreme jolt will cause it to throw a code. It might be the battery hitting it though cause its tied down... Is it cool to run the car with the dizzy bolted up this way??

no it is not ok to run it that way, the distributor would be cocked at an angle... did you not bore out the top mount hole on the distributor? all the holes should not line up only the top one and thats the only bolt you need to put in.

the y8 distributor isnt gonna work, you have to use obd0 with obd0 stop making everything so hard this ---- has been done time and time again. use a dremel or drill and hollow out the top dizzy hole.

It should be noted that the factory timing marks on a y8 crank pulley are marked for 10/12/14 degree's ignition timing, where the A6 runs 14/16/18 degree timing marks on it's pulley.....PM6 ECU runs at 16 degree's BTDC for it's base timing.
