Re:Y does it always takes 5 crank to start my car.?

let it prime for 5 sec, then start.

Mine USED to do this. every morning take like 5 cranks to start. Since then I've done oil changes, new bat, and cleaned my IACV. Now it starts almost too quick.

Do basic tune up, cap, rotor, wires, plugs, fluids etc. Then clean the IACV.

I think you already did the tune up right?..so n/m.

do you have bigger injectors/fuel pressure gauge/fuel pressure regulator??? any of these could have a small leak that allows the fuel pressure to drop to zero after a while. Most cars do it, unless you have a stock car, just prime the lines before you crank, that should help alot. I turn mine to prime the lines, then turn off, then I turn back on the crank to start. Remember your fuel pump does not stay on all the time. It goes on and off so the frist time you try to start if it does not have enough fuel pressure then your car wont start. 98ctr

it`s not the fuel pressure either.
fuel pressure builds up really quick after i turned the key.
still does that no matter how many time i prime it.

i`ve done tune ups, check all sensor, ALternator, battery, starter, fuel pressure, fuel pump, played with cold idle valve, ig timing/ fuel pressure, cam timing `s good, checked ground connection, tired different plugs/wires, plug gap, valve lash, tried reseting ECU, i`ve checked the coil and reading `s within spec.
the PGMFI relay and the coil is all i am thinking of..
but these ---- are dam expensive to replace. :-\

going to replace it this week end with 450 and Uberdata.
we`ll see whatsup

BTW, it`s been leaning out to the last LED on my AF gauge everytime when i go pass vtec..it doesn`t do it b4...
so hopefully it is the injectors that`s ------ around.. :-\

Re:Y does it always takes 5 crank to start my car.?

Hummmm, my car is doing the same thing, and my friends does it also. Mine take two cranks and it will start up. But then sometimes, i have driven it for a while, and turn it off, and it wont start for like 7 or 8 times, sometimes i have to restart the ecu????

Im seriously thinking the PGMFI RElay!! I dont want to replace it with a old one tho!! When it does it, try and hit the dash where the little coin holder thing to the left of the steering wheel, and see if it cranks????

Also, maybe i need to clean my IACV??? Does anyone know what the FAST idle valve does?? i know that mine isnt hooked up, because the wires are sitting there!! i dont know where they go on the ECU PINout.

also i think lower compression could effect this too.
