not really power, but moreso the efficiency of the motor. The fuel won't atomize properly when it's cold and plus the fact it's designed to run at 190 or whatever.

Not to mention the ecu sees the car as still in warm-up, so it dumps alot more fuel in until it does reach temp. That was how I ran extra fuel for my very first, very ghetto turbo build lol...potentiometer in place of the temp sensor and the fpr cranked up with a shitload of check valves. Ahh, the good old days.

doesnt the ECU jack timing way high up in cold start mode??

and i was reading about running no t-stat on a daily basis and it can cause increased cyl wear due to uneven expansion from the coolent not performing properly

Yes it does. I had to retard the dizzy quite a bit to run 6 psi lol. In the end my ringland's broke anyway, so lesson was learned.

today my t-stat(brand new >1k miles) got stuck open so when i am driving my temp never reaches the bottom line on the gauge but i am not in cold start mode, my idle is fine ~800rpm which makes me think my engine is properly warmed up. i know the gauge works i've watched it climb when i purposely over heated it

what would cause a t-stat to stay open when its brand new and is running really cool going to hurt anything?
peace out head gasket

Yeah I thought I was getting badass gas mileage also but it turns out I only am getting about 33-38 mpg. I haven't filled up yet on this motor so I haven't done the exact math.
