Again why not just have a jdm d15b vtec shipped to you. In my years I have only had one count that one jdm motor fail within one year. Most lasted to the point of boredom actually make that all of them. This is well over 100+swaps

Very true...last d15b I ordered up for a job only ran around $450+shipping from cali. Probably the best bang for the buck considering what your other options are.

Well thats what i meant. I had heard ---- like that too but when it came time to find one all those dime a dozen D15's or anything d for that matter where high mileage and not 400. 2 of the local places I called said they can get ---- from cali so i know they weren't just looking local. Hmotorsonline even said they didnt have ---- except 90K ZC's and for 900 shipped, im good. I couldn't find any deals like that. Maybe my local dudes didn't know ---- i dunno.

The main issue was it was my daily and this needed to be fixed yesterday kind of ----, sucks if there is a better deal now that the money is spent.

My experience lies with LS motors which usually like to throw #2 or #3 after the rod bearing is spun. I have spun a rod bearing before that had the "I'm fucked clack" on a cold (2 day old) startup. After pulling the motor I think it was #3 rod journal that looked like a cheese grader got to it. I decided to use some emry cloth to round it back out even, but by the time you factor in the cost of some oversized rod bearings (using just one, letting 3 go into the parts bin) the actual cost of a crank is cheaper.

It's just a D series, start with a higher miles block and freshen it up or just drop it in as-is. Many people have said not to mess with turning journals on a honda crank because of the coating but if you think about it, machined tolerances don't really matter, as long as everything is in spec with the use of plastigauge.

In reality the machine work doesn't out weigh the price that you can pick up another shortblock/crank at. You can also find standard sized bearings for a good price - they are mostly cheaper than oversized ones anyways.

Hope that helps.

There are some importers in the MD area that have decent prices. I looked into them when looking for a replacement D series, but found one cheaper locally with decent miles.
