Again why not just have a jdm d15b vtec shipped to you. In my years I have only had one count that one jdm motor fail within one year. Most lasted to the point of boredom actually make that all of them. This is well over 100+swaps

The main issue was it was my daily and this needed to be fixed yesterday kind of ----, sucks if there is a better deal now that the money is spent.

there you go. They always have around 10+ in stock. Shipping is cheap since they sell so much and have there own shipping company.
For future reference
The guys on the east coast just buy stuff from the importers on the west coast and up the cost
buy direct and be happy
Nippon owned by japs run by mexicans. california style.

Oh so true. I was one of the first guys to start buying them from my importer in so cal I got the mad hook upz yo not letting that one out who
They were selling them to use for 200 bucks complete has at the time they were selling them has vx replacments this is around 2000-2001. It was good times no one knew what that motor was. It liked a 75 shot too. Classic white trash build.
Motor swaps done under a street light or in a dirt lot in the middle of the desert. Porting heads/manifolds in my living room

My experience lies with LS motors which usually like to throw #2 or #3 after the rod bearing is spun. I have spun a rod bearing before that had the "I'm fucked clack" on a cold (2 day old) startup. After pulling the motor I think it was #3 rod journal that looked like a cheese grader got to it. I decided to use some emry cloth to round it back out even, but by the time you factor in the cost of some oversized rod bearings (using just one, letting 3 go into the parts bin) the actual cost of a crank is cheaper.
It's just a D series, start with a higher miles block and freshen it up or just drop it in as-is. Many people have said not to mess with turning journals on a honda crank because of the coating but if you think about it, machined tolerances don't really matter, as long as everything is in spec with the use of plastigauge.
In reality the machine work doesn't out weigh the price that you can pick up another shortblock/crank at. You can also find standard sized bearings for a good price - they are mostly cheaper than oversized ones anyways.
Hope that helps.
