Re:what the hell???
Betting the oil pressure is ---- also.

Re:what the hell???
That is the first time that I have seen thickening that bad. I would atribute it to old oil, but it looks really light in color.

Re:what the hell???
Oil pressure seems fine, VTEC engages so I assume it's all good in there, I really should get a proper gauge though. The motor was never run with the oil like that. I changed it out, cleaned the pan thoroughly, swapped oil pickups and flushed it all out. The topend was perfect, none of that crap up there and the cam looked liek new, no scoring at all. I'm assuming that it sat in JDM land for a looooong time before being shipped. It runs perfect and once Weir racing finishes my flanges, I can get started on boosting the mofo. It does seem to consume a bit of oil, but I drive the piss out of it and all my D-series friends say that it will use a bit of Mobil 1 if driven hard. Who's to say? It's a very fun ride, boost should be a blast!

Re:what the hell???
wow, that sure did look like ----! It may have just sat for a long time. You said it runs great with no knocks and the top end is clean. I'd do a compression test and leakdown test to further check the condition of the engine.(rings, hg, valves etc.) If it checks out ok then boost that fucker!

Re:what the hell???
i prolly woulda hosed the fucker down with carb cleaner when the oil pan was off

Re:what the hell???
Since the top was clean, could it be water from the engine importer pressure cleaning the motor? When I got my B16A from hmotorsonline, the transmission had water mixed in it.

Re:what the hell???
Yeah, I guess thats a possibility. Never even considered it.
