Every 10 seconds though? Mine stays on for minutes before it cycles. It is in the 100's here though.

There must be something wrong with the one in my civic too then couse I just put the belt back on(took it off for 2 years dont ask why 
)and it does the same thing.At first I thought it was wierd couse it felt like my car was kind of sputtering(It constantly comes on and off).It maintains cool air though.I only notice it coming on and off while crusing down the street not while at high speeds on the freeway.I cant remember what it was doing 2 years ago so I thought it was normal.

I believe that is a sign of the freon getting low. I just had this happen and the freon was low. I filled it and the compressor stays on. If it gets too low it won't even turn on. Is the a/c cold?
