Vtec Problem
HI,
I am trying to get my Ls/Vtec running properly and I now have a new problem. I have my Vtec crossover point set to 4500 rpms, when I hit it I can hear the difference but at the same time it seems that the car falls on its face and starts to misfire. I am running a chipped P06 converted to vtec. I thought maybe it could be that the vtec chipped part of the ECU could be faulty?? I am getting no CELS when this happens. Any ideas??

Huh?? I tried several basemaps (p30,p72,p2
and they're all Giving me problems. Its a brand new rebuilt engine, this problem just started. I'm going to try a non-vtec basemap to see if the problem goes away without vtec engaging.

Yeah, I just tried my other chipped ecu with the same results..I just double checked my base timing, its at 16 deg. like it should, at an idle of 750rpm. No adjustable cam gears. I tried a basemap with Vtec disabled and it still seems to bog at higher rpms. I have new wires, new distributor. When Vtec engages, it sounds more raspy than usual and It feels like i'm losing power.
