Default since idling seems to be a problem ill post my problem

my problem is when im driving and put it in neutral or push in the clutch it idles at about 1200-1400 rpms. but when im stopped it very slowly idles down to 800 rpms, but if i push on the gas and let off it starts idling again at about 1200 and then i have to wait for it to slowly go back down. so i was wondering if anyone has had this problem and might know what is causing it.

thanks

i would check your throttle body. it could be dirty and getting stuck

if you have a dashpot diaphragm, that could be doing that as well. look for your throttle cable and see if there is anything else attached to the pulley. if so, get rid of it. or at least unplug the vacuum line and seal that off and test to see if it works.

if you even have one.

try this....

drive around, put her in neutral and wait til it starts to idle @ 1200 like you said. Now when its @ 1200 stick ur toe UNDER the gas pedal and lift it up. Do the RPM's go down? if so then you're cable is buggered or its too tight (adjust it)
