vtec head on a zc?
I don't think they will bolt up for some reason.

the valve relief in the pistons
DOHC piston have valve relief for DOHC head
AND SOHC pistons have valve relief for SOHC head
i guess if u where to use differennt piston but i am not sure about the bolting up part

Actually the valve releifs are about the same size and that really isnt the problem. Oil passages are not shaped the same, and some chanfering needs to be done. 2 head bolts do NOT align up, and some serious drilling would be needed to be done on the head, and I have no idea if their is enough meat in the ZC head to cut away to be safe and have the bolt still go through?? I mocked one up and looked at everything, The cylinders all align just fine with the head. ITs real real close, but the head bolt situation makes it a big NO GO!
Also if you were to put a DOHC ZC head on say a D16a6 you would get around 8.25 c/r. Which is really low for a honda and probably would run like ----.

ok if u can do that can u put a dohc vtec head (b16 b18 head )on a b16a1 cause as far as i know thats the only heads that r dohc vetc, because i thought u couldnt cross b seried and d series and have it work
Some one on this board was saying how you can put a DOHC ZC on a d block. ive never ehard of that before but i guess anythings possible right??$$
i recently put a z6 on a SOHC ZC, does anyone know if the SOHC ZC have the pm7(jdm zc) pistons?
while doing the swap i was too busy scraping the head gasket off the block i forgot to look...!
if it IS the pm7 pistons my set-up yeilds 12.35.
if my ZC came with the pm6 pistons set up yeilds 9.71.
both are with the .048 thickness gasket in an attempt to lower compression for boost.
* according to http://www.knology.net/~jediklc/D.htm *
i kick myself in the *** for forgetting to look at the pistons...
post some ideas up about worst case scenario, 12.35 comp. with boost, yikes...!

ShoPow,
i put a Z6 head on a SOHC ZC shortblock...
I'n not quiet sure i understand your Q.
but if your asking if the SOHC ZC IM will fit other d-series blocks?
A: yes, it will fit but my ZC came carburated, and yes i used the Z6 IM with the z6 head.
