My buddy was wondering the same thing but i dont know if it would be worth it. Somepeople say the sohc zc is the same output as a d16a1 and some say it has like 120 hp. Info on this would be great. And arent we all trained machanics here LOL.

Ummm..yes. They did make a SOHC ZC with VTEC. It's just like a Z6, but it's not. It made about 125hp.

The non-VTEC version was basically an A6.

Sorry, didn't mean to sound like a smartass.

Yes, it's possible. You can put a VTEC head on any block as long as it doesn't interchange from DOHC to SOHC or vise versa(i.e you can't put a SOHC VTEC head on a DOHC ZC and you can't put a DOHC ZC head on a SOHC block.)

don't you end up with something like 12.X:1 compression with a ZC bottom end and a y8 top end?

I'm not going to say he is wrong, but I'm 99.9% sure you can't do it. Anybody want to confirm this?
