Default Vitara Pistons in an A6, How Low Compression?

I dunno. I kind of had a change of heart on my build. Decided not to go big balla 400whp and spend every penny on just the motor that would be a dyno queen and more an all around great handling, sick stopiing, fast spooling car

So Im thinking of selling my SRP 9.1:1's and crower billet rods and going the cheaper route and throwing in some vitaras and boosting 16 pounds on them

Who knows how low my compression would drop with them in a D16a6? My head is milled .040 thousandth's and 1mm oversized valves.

Also which of the oem d16 headgasket would bring up compression a little more...

Just wanna know if its worth it to switch over, theyll be run with a .60/.63 T3

Thanks

You do know Vitara are cast pistons correct?

http://www.knology.net/~jediklc/D.htm

All the info you need. Oh and good luck not cracking your sleeves at 16 psi but if you plan on doing it make sure to post pics so I can say I told you so

The Vitara pistons are cast but they're definitely strong.
I've taken them to ~30psi, by accident and they didn't break in my Suzuki, they even have some material milled off so they're a bit weaker than stock.

I dont think he said the pistons would blow, but more less my sleeves at @16psi which is bullshit. Theres many 400+whp d's on stock sleeves.

Yeah there cast but Ive read quite a bit about them and what there made of and coated with and Im set on them for a budget build, if they blow eventually, ---- it

I cant use that compression calculator though, dont know the dimensions on the pistons, dont forget the head is milled .040 and the 1mm oversized valves (makes a compression difference right??)

Thanks

I just need a compression ratio

I heard they were 2mm lower than oem a6 pistons, but my head is milled .040

I can get them with rings for $105 shipped so I just need to know what type of compression Im looking at

thanks

What rods are you going to put in there?

You could go uber cheap and get some b18 rods...still require notching but i think that there stroke is only 89mm which would help you...

having your head milled that much raised the compression to like 9.9 or so

---- aiming at 16psi

it isn't about the pressure, it's about the cfm's moved.

tune it right and you're fine.

btw, for only $105 hook me up with a set.

I'm going to buy another block and i think im going to go with a vitira piston/b18 rod setup

the stroke of the crank has nothing to do with the compatibilty of the rods...its the length of them
a shorter stroke will lower the compression.
