According to FJT : https://www.homemadeturbo.com/forum/...?topic=95223.0 Arrow towards the timing belt.
If you use 75.5mm bore pistons run 0.003 to 0.0035 pist. to wall clearance and you'll have low amount of piston slap.

According to the vitara manual you are supposed to face the pistons toward the left of the motor if the exhaust is facing you.
I built my motor this way and it will be running very shorty.
Im just stating my Educated opinion By showing information which I have found.
