very noob question about timeing, be gentle
 

which timeing mark do i shoot for when timeing my D16Z6?

i thought i had my timeing dialed in but i may not... i know its kind of a noob question but i cant decerin which mark it is from the manual i have downloaded

im in my garage right now (i love wireless net ^_^)

is this for installing timing belt or setting the dizzy timing?
setting the timing is on the middle of three marks. i believe it's red on the z6. 16 degrees.

for setting timeing... i have 5 marks on my pully, 3 close together and 2 close together about 2 inchs from the others

none of them have any color

use the middle one on the left set of 3. on the right set of 2, the white one is 0*tdc.

So just to verify here are the steps:

1992-95 MODELS
1. Start engine and allow to reach normal operating temperature (cooling fan comes on).
2. Pull out the service check connector located behind the right kick panel.
3. Connect a jumper wire between the BRN and GRN/WHT terminals of the connector.
4. Connect a timing light and check timing using the red timing mark.
5. Timing should be:

All engine speed settings may vary 50 rpm above or below the specification.

D15Z1 engine: M/T-16° BTDC (RED) 600 rpm (USA) or 700 rpm (Canada)
D15B8 engine: M/T-12° BTDC (RED) 670 rpm (USA) or 750 rpm (Canada)
D15B7/D16Z6 engine: M/T-16° BTDC (RED) at 670 rpm (USA) or 750 rpm (Canada)
D15B7/D16Z6 engine: A/T-16° BTDC (RED) at 700 rpm (USA) or 750 rpm (Canada)

6. Adjust timing as needed, by turning the distributor housing counterclockwise to retard the timing, clockwise to retard the timing.
7. Turn engine off and remove jumper wire.

none of the markings are colored... so which one is TDC??

THE MARKS ARENT COLORED, THERE ISNT A WHITE ONE

so i ask again, since there not colored, which of the two is TDC

very helpfull

i got the timeing dialed in (thanks ::)) and im still haveing my same problems

my AFR's wont change no matter what changes i make to the map, at idle its 10 or below and above 2500-3500 it cuts out because its damn near 16

i tried datalogging while running but i cant seem to get that to work right quite yet...

anyone have any ideas? if i cant get this thing figured out soon im just gonna sell it because i cant not have a DD for much longer
