TURBO H22 or N/A H22 HELP ME!!!!
I got a prob. I bought a 92 VTEC prelude off a clam that didnt know ---- about cars. He wired up a bunch of neon lights and fucke up the radiator fans. So after all his bull ---- he cracked the block. Now I am stuck with a half assed motor that barely runs. I got 2 choices : A) buy a JDM swap and go naturally aspirated or B) buy a new block and build it up and turbo it. I want to know which route is less expensive?
Which route will give me more power?
Which way do you think is the best?
Is it possible to get an h23 engine and put my VTEC head on it? and go from there...
I heard the cylinder walls on the prelude are thin so the only way to get decent boost off the turbo is to sleeve it. If I go turbo I was thinkin that I would make my own buying parts off ebay: Exhaust manifold, t3/t4 turbo, intercooler, wastegate, blow off valve.
Any response would be greatly appreciated, if you want to mail me I am at : bloodypiranha@yahoo.com

yes the h23 blocks will accept the h22 heads. you'll have similar hp with just a straight h22 but the torque.....man is it up there. you can find decent priced h22 and h23's around. but like they said...the walls arent really made for turbo. major reconstruction will be needed for the h22 to accept high boost. good luck
