Actually, we had a machine shop do it for us, just to make sure it was done correctly. This is not something you want to get wrong or go too far with.....

if he were to put the wrist pin in the freezr over night and heat the pistons and rod with say a propane torch just to heat them, lubbed the pin and slide it in, would that be ok? or would the wrisy pin expand to much and seize to the rod?

It's not an interference fit, from what I'm gathering here, so that would be a BAD idea.
