Toyota st162 to obd1 honda management.
This is the idea to adapt the Honda distributor to the Toyota s series head.
http://img381.imageshack.us/img381/4...adaptorpi6.jpg I need this machined. More to come. Expect this thread to be a form of failure, ok? http://img133.imageshack.us/img133/6...ardnessdx5.jpg I need help with this. I have most of it figured out but I need to know what things are what on the honda ecu and possibly score the voltage outputs for the sensors. This thread continues to be a form of failure, ok? |
Re: Toyota st162 to obd1 honda management.
Jd, hold my hand. I'm scared, ok?

Re: Toyota st162 to obd1 honda management.
i'll machine that dist spacer for you, crackhead cheap because im a cnc guy.....
you need to draw it properly and email me. cheers Dan. |
Re: Toyota st162 to obd1 honda management.
awesome, thanks. I still need to figure out what angle the hole for the pin needs drilled and how much of an offset/what angle the prongs that go into the dist need to be at.
I'll have to tdc the engine, check orientation and mark some stuff when I get time. more work on jumper harness. http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/2...ardnessha9.jpg The distributor, map sensor and a few other things still need sorted out. I'm probably going to have to run a subharness for the map, ks and distributor |

Re: Toyota st162 to obd1 honda management.
There was a couple good write ups on pgmfi.org i think it was.Did you find those?Looks like a great way to get cheap quality management for the Toy crowd and i think if a guy was smart he would machine a dozen adapters and make some jumper harnesses to sell.
|
Re: Toyota st162 to obd1 honda management.
I've never seen any of those on pgmfi. Do you have a link?
I was thinking about getting a few of these machined. Especially since 1" round stock comes in 2 foot sections only. The jumper harnesses would need to be like 180-200 for it to be worth the time. I have like 90 dollars into mine in costs only so far. |
Re: Toyota st162 to obd1 honda management.
Does it spin the right way? If not, can you fix it?
|
Re: Toyota st162 to obd1 honda management.
everything spins the right way, firing order is the same usw
|
Re: Toyota st162 to obd1 honda management.
Half finished the harness tonight. Let's hope it's not a piece of ----.

Re: Toyota st162 to obd1 honda management.

I had a birthday Wednesday and a barrage of tests all week. I'm going to head down to the electronics surplus place today after school and see if I can pick up some some bundled wire to run the distributor and map wires to the engine bay. |

http://forum.ectune.com/viewtopic.php?t=1493 Is that adaptor aluminum? The key on the stock dizzy is probably much harder than regular steel let alone what looks to be aluminum. If you browse through mcmaster they sell steel that can be hardened, as well as some that is already hardened to different degrees. I forget what one is the hardest you can get yet still machine, I'll have to look it up I just used some cause I didn't have the time to send it out to get heat treated after machining. And if you don't have access to any cad, get me some dimensions and I'll model it for you. Kick ass project btw |

Re: Toyota st162 to obd1 honda management.
Dang Caleb alot of aggression as of late. How are you pinning in the wires to the ECU? Doesnt look to be the same connectors and the gauge of your wiring is massive. You look into OHM's law yet on the amount of drop your going to have? Dave re wired my harness for me at my last tune. Tried to teach my bitchass how to remove the pins but I continued to ride the FAILBOAT so he took over and I reinstalled them. We tag teams that bitch. And watched Bone wonder around talking about D trans to people who had no idea who he was. Funny ----.
