sorry..but what trans. in order for you to remove the main and counter shafts....you have to remove the idler gear.. which is 2 10mm bolts i think. this is from the top of my head. after that....you pull both shafts with all the gearsets...with the shiftforks all out at once. pull in one smooth motion...dont yank or stuff like that. then you'll be able to see the diff.

yea reverse idler gear....then on the inside of the bellhousing there is a bolt you need to take out that will allow you to spin the shift assembly whatever you want to call it...so you can get the shafts to clear the shift forks....off the top of my head
I tried that with mine and it wouldn't budge. I yanked and pried like hell and it didn't move.
