What sleeves are you running? How much you pay and where did you get them?

I am going to sleeve a spare z6 I picked up, I am trying to choose between MID and the dry flanged sleeves from dart. Dry flanged sleeves cost about half as much as the MID's and I cant tell what the difference is. MID stands for Modular Integrated Deck, sure So does that mean the flanged sleeves dont support the tops?

Last time i was in the local machine shop, the guy showed me an H22 block he was sleeving. I was pretty surprised, I guess it depends on where you go.

My machinist has done it before. Here in NE WI we have some of the best machine shops/machinists in the world and a very high concentration of them too, we have to with all the paper mills around. I'm not asking weather to send it to some yahoo for $1000 because thats not happening. I just wanted to know what the difference is if any between the MID and dry flanged sleeves. and if the dry flanged sleeves support the sleeve or not.

The sleeves that are half the price, aren't installed. That's the answer.

You can get a set of MID's for around $500 (i'm assuming uninstalled)
and a set of "dry-flanged" for about $250

I'm assuming both are uninstalled.
