Tach Not Working At All - 88 Crx Si Why???

Default Tach Not Working At All - 88 Crx Si Why???

I have an 88 Crx si, stock tach. Car was down for a while, for an engine reuibld

I got the car running bu tthe tach wont work, my shiftlight turns on but my tach goes knowwhere. The wires are all plugged in and everything but I cant get it to work

Need some ideas

Could something be stopping the needle? has the cluster ever been opened? Go to the back of the cluster and check the tach wire (should be blue, correct me if I'm wrong). Make sure the wire is connected well, perhaps get a meter and see if it's getting power when you rev the engine.

run the signal wire from your ---- light tach to the "-" on the coil inside the dizzy, simply take off the dizzy cap and youll see t phillips screws one is negative, just install your signal wire here and yea pretty much self explanitory, only way a fuse would blow is if u hacked it into a spot for power which still i duno y it would blow, where is the signal wire at now?

just take the dizzy cap off, its right on the top.
