you don't need to bother with hooking it up as close to the dizzy as possible, it might be 10 rpm off, but the little tick marks on your tach are probably marked at hundreds so you're not going to notice if it's 10 rpm off. I just think it's easier to not have to put wires through the firewall, but maybe other people like that type of thing, like some people like jig saw puzzles, and other people are mimes.

the plug in the back doesnt have a solid blue wire... is it in the middle or on one of the ends?

did you get that blue wire, or did you tap somewhere else?

hook up the red, to a 13v power source, the black a ground, then the white wire i beleive is the rpm signal wire. hook that up to the - on coil in side the distributor. just pull the cap off and its the side toward the passenger fender. that should be it.
