Re:surging idle help!!!
if it surges up. like its normal then goes up try to burp your coolant system. the IACV wont make an idle go up, but the FIAV (fast idle air valve) will. The FIAV detects how hot the coolant is (coolant runs to this and out the other side, check on back of intake manifold) and then it adjust the amount of air goin in. If there is an air bubble it will think its cold and bump up the idle, when the bubble passes it will go back down. Same thing can happen if it needs to be cleaned out.

Re:surging idle help!!!
well i went to burp the coolant but i noticed that i was leaking coolant out of the hose that goes into my firewall im pretty sure that its for my heater because whenever i have my heat on i notice a little coolant around the hose....so i didnt burp the coolant because i wasnt sure if this has anything to do with it....any thoughts??

Re:surging idle help!!!
when you turn your heater on do you smell coolant in the car? if not, just keep an eye on the levels.
But.. again if you have a surging idle. And air in the coolant IS causing this that may be where the air is getting in..
how much fluid? like a drop?

Re:surging idle help!!!
dude check your vacuum hoses, bleed the coolant system, clean and readjust the iacv and fiv if you have em. also check the pcv valve. you should have a manual to consult with, if not you can find instructions and even a download of the 92-93 b18a helms in my sig at www.g2ic.com/forums
