Default starting problems.

car: 92 civic cx
engine: 92 b17

well, the swap was in for liek 3 weeks, everything went fine...today, the car doesnt turn over, we checked the starter, its fine. we checked the battery, thats fine. we checked to see if it was the clutch switch(no voltage at starter w/o pressing clutch, 12.xx voltage when clutch is pressed, thats correct right?) we tried applying direct current to the starter(wire from positive to both starter plugs), still doesnt turn over, anyone have any ideas? we were able to push start it and it ran

starter doenst work that way w/ 12v.

12v ALWAYS to starter, and a ground. Then there is a selanoid (spelling?) that tells the starter to go and engages the starter to the flywheel. Is it turning at all if not, get a broom pole or something 3ft long and fairly strong and give your starter a tap in a few places. Every couple of taps try to start again. If eventually it starts that means u need a new starter.

people always overlook getting a good ground. also the ignition switch will go out sometimes. they cost like 40 bucks at autozone, and they are not that hard to switch out.

Does it just turn over really slow once or twice or does it turn over at all? have hte battery tested, dont assume. and if its not that it could be a ground or the starter contacts. I had the smae issue with my 93 EX civic and it came down to bad contacts and bad battery. It sucks but i bets its the battery if you have had it for more than 5 years.
