ok so i have a 91 crx Si with an HF engine in it for now till i rebuild the stock one, or get a new one. anyways, i go to start my car today and the starter just kind of spins like the gear didnt engage or something.. im like ok wtf, try again and it starts.. then did the same thing later on.. then im driving down the road, and my BRAKE light lights up on my dash.. i have it unpluged from the ebrake handel so im not pulling on that.. and then my starter like turns on and my lights dim.. im just wondering why the ---- its doing that? i mean... ive never had a car do that before.. and also its throwing codes 12 8 and 1... i have a brand new o2 sensor.. and since i have the Si intake manifold on the HF engine... theres not EGR valve... code 8 is TDC but the car is running... running actually quite well, when it starts... anything anyone knows that might help would be awsome, thanks

 

if your brake lights are on when your e brakes are down. check your brake fluid. It could mean it is low.

Could also be a problem with the main relay. My starter was doing that too on my 91 crx right before the relay and wire harness caught fire. Definately check the relay and the harness going to it to see if there are any melted wires...trust me, you don't want the headache that i went through to try and run a new harness. I ended up giving up and putting everything on toggle switches...racecar style biznitches...and it sucked
