I have a D16A1 motor with a D16A6 tranny on the motor all the tranny bolts line up execpt one which doesn't matter to me. One of the starter bolts line up but the other doesn't, it's the long bolt that connects the starter to the tranny. I Can tap that bolt so it goes into the tranny no problem. The problem i'm having is the starter kicks or seems to kick out far enought but it isn't checking the flywheel to turn the motor over. I think it is kicking out far enough just not close enough to the flywheel if you know what i mean... Does anyone have any idea what i could grind down with a grinder to get it to cautch the flywheel or maybe i should get a D16A1 starter maybe that will fix my problem. Any help will be greatly appericated. Thanks.

i would try the d16a1 starter and see what happens before u start fabricating
