im glad there from his mouth, too bad his mouth is full of ----

you can daily drive a motor with 12:1 or slightly higher with premium just fine, i have personally, and i have also driven a turbo motor with a 12:1 C/R on 12 psi daily with just premium

detonation is deffinitly an enemy, but there are ways to control it. I used water injection to help lower intake temps and detur detonation, and it worked very well.

im in no way telling people with a 24:1 CR or some ---- to boost it, and just slap water injection on it and call it good, but if you look around you can useally find something to help get you to your goals.

if you want big power and lots of boost, a high CR motor is the wrong way to go and you might as well blow it up now, if you want a decently quick daily driver, you can keep it NA or stick it with 7-8lbs and call it a day

Im not even looking to boost this motor.

I would just like the compression ratio to be around 11.3:1 so I could get by with some retarded timing and premium fuel.

Thats funny, I had an 84.5mm bore 12.8:1 compression on pump gas and ZERO detonation. 244whp. Pump 92 octane. Tom Payn can suck a dick.

People have also said D series will never make over 300 on a stock engine, and its happend several times.

Cast high compression pistons such has ctr pistons are an issue not a forged piston has long has were not talking an insane style domed piston. Camshaft choice is also a major key has a large cam will bleed of alot of that compression.

In reality if your unsure buy the compression piston you want take the block to someone you feel safe putting it together and sell the high compression pistons. Peace of mind is worth alot more than a couple hundred bucks.
