thats great info chris, so these are all obvisouly going to be OBD1 engines, and they came from what model?

I'm guessing the pistons are not domed in this version of the ZC.. any ideas?

when you refer to the LSD tranny the vti, that is also for 5g civics correct? using hydro? Do you know the gear ratios?

Has all the models that came with the zc vtec motor. I have yet to pull a head off one of them but it may. So many jdm motors have slightly higher comp. so that's where the extra power comes from.Vti Lsd tranny has the same gearing has an ex/si tranny.yes it's for a 5th gen hydro. Alot of importers down here in so.cal are selling them for dirt cheap. got one for 200 bucks. trips people out. A d series LSD. Just wanted to also say great site. I'm finishing up a turbo kit now with alot of info and ideas coming from your projects. Thanks and keep up the good work.

shows a ZC VTEC 1590cc SOHC VTEC, 130ps which is a 1.6l and
D15B 1493cc SOHC VTEC, 130ps which is a 1.5l same hp but more torqe on the 1590cc I'm assuming? can some one confirm this? peace out.

Some parts are interchangeable. The heads on a d15/d16 are going to be similar, (if they are 16 valves)

Comparing
d15b2 & d16a6

Both use the same head, the d15 has a slightly weaker camshaft, but the entire valve train is the same.

bottom end parts are different. The DX has a shorter stroke than the a6. So crank and other parts are not swapable. The bore size of the pistons is the same. But if you buy a6 pistons for you dx, you are going to be getting a different compression. I dont know what the exact formula is.

Jeff

Hey, I'm running the D15B VTEC in mine. It's running to full potential since right now I'm using a PM6 w/RPM activated switch with a DX tranny. Here's a pic:
