if you want my 2cents - get a new car that has a manual tranny in it already. and correct me if i am wrong but i am sure you will need a new pressure plate, flywheel, and clutch - and another thing - add up all the parts and then see if you want to swap - you will probably not consider it after adding up everything.

pulling the pedal assembly is the easiest part. max you'll prolly spend to convert is like 800? incluidng rewleding the mount unless you can do that your self also...
tranny = like 200 maybe?
pedal assembly like 60?
clutch cable - 25?
whole clutch - 300?
flywheel like 120?
add some elbow greese and you got ur self a manual vehicle for around 705...
i'd rather do that then spend few grand on another car jus so its manual... delerious can't be ------ serious. most of his questions should be but he's stupid. talks like a 12 year old who wishes he had his license already gettin happy when he drives his mom's van around the block.

That swap won't even cost you $400 if you're smart. All the parts are at the junkyard. Don't take your whole pedal assembly out though. Just undo the bolt and the spring that hold the brake pedal in and swap it for the smaller pedal. Then you don't have to mess with the brake system cause you're just swapping a pedal.
I pulled the whole pedal assembly at the junkyard and they charged me $9 for all of it. :P

Re: So how hard is a manual trans swap on an civic?
nope, the clutch pedal assembly is a completely seperate piece from the brake/gas. So add the whold clutch pedal assembly, and then take the one pin and a spring out of the brake pedal and just put the manual brake pedal in it's place. The spring at the top of the brake pedal can be a bitch, but if you take the gauge cluster out its easier to access.
