I got a D16Z6 engine with auto trans, i want to switch it for a manual trans, how do i go about doing that, can i change stome stuff auto trans to make a maul or just complete swap it out. Also does anyone know about porting and polishing a cylinder head, some tips on how to do and tools and stuff.

i once takled about doing an auto to manual swap, hre or on another board.... anyway, it basically came down to not be worth it. you have to do a complete pedal swap ( very difficult with the dash in the car, you have to transplant an intire shift linkage (a little welding involved), and perhaps one addition tranny mount... after the discussion, i didn't even bother trying it. search for teh port and polish stuff, it's been takled about on this board several times i know of.

 

is it a crx, i forgot what the crx engine code was. a6 or z6

 

I have the shift linkages, mount, tranny, and I can get the pedal, if you interested some of the stuff I list on ebay.

 

you have a d16z6 engine in your garage or already in your civic?

if you want to change your AUTO civic Si to manual go buy another car. not easy or cheap.

but if the engine is on the floor of your garage as a swap then you can just unbolt the auto tranny and bolt on the manual tranny. But you CANT just plop that into your auto car..
