Default smoke on start up gone... was it because I installed cat? removed the turbo?

I used to make a nice blue smoke cloud on startup, i figured it was my motor and removed the turbo to get the motor to make it a couple more months. When i removed the turbo and I installed my stock cat/ exhaust, I lost that nice big start up cloud. Now my motor still smokes at high rpm like before, but could some of the could the smoke came from turbo or is my cat hiding some of the smoke?

sounds like the seals are gone in my turbo? or is it something that very simple to replace?

this is odd because my turbo b16 crx smokes on cold start up as well, i mean it puffs a FAT cloud of bluish/greyish smoke on cold start up, but after its warm it doesnt smoke at all, i was under the impression that it was valve stem seals, but i also had doubts if it was just the turbo, because it NEVER smoked before it was turbo and running an open downpipe.....

if it's the valve stem seals it should smoke on downshifts too i believe. Mine was smoking on downshifts (can't notice from inside the car) but i haven't bothered to check since it's been naturally aspirated to confirm that theory. Could be just oil that settles in the exhaust overnight, and slips past the piston ring in the turbine seal.
