smoke coming out of everywhere
ok, so i was helping my buddy replace a headgasket in his d15, well when i pulled the intake mani off, there was a little smoke coming out, well then i pulled the valve cover off, it was smoking for like, half an hour, anyone know what could be causing this smoke any other questions?

Re: smoke coming out of everywhere
pcv not working and gases staying in valve cover & crank instead of vacuumed and burned in cylinder? just a guess.
why did you take the intake mani off for a headgasket swap?
also how was the oil? dirty crap or any water/antifreeze in there?

Re: smoke coming out of everywhere
well it was cold out, yes, but we were in a heated garage.... and i always take the IM off when i do it just so its lighter and i dont have to take as much off to take the head out, i dunno i guess its just easier, expecially since its only DPFI so there isnt as many nuts, but i mean it was coming out of every oriface it could in the head.. dipstick tube, oil fill cap, cylinder head intake ports/exhaust ports, so i dunno, something to do with the oil? or would it be the pcv...
