Or will I have to get the springs and such with them too along with the cam gears

sir-II or 92+jdm b16a cams are a great upgrade if you have the old cable style which you do

Im a fan of itr cams. Great idle. Easy to tune. Good power. Honda quality.

Re: Skunk2 intakes

crower springs/retainers will old 10,500 rpm's

and gsr cams will not carry power there. On a b16a your looking at around 8300-8400 before your just reving for fun

The gsr cams really aren't much different than SiR2 cams, a tad more duration IFRC . The springs aren't hard to change, just so long as you have the proper tool to do it with...normal valve spring compressors just don't cut it in these deep b16/b18c heads. If you've never done b-series vtec springs before, I'd recommend taking the head and springs to a reputable shop and have them change them for you. Those little keepers can be a real bastard when the tool slips and they go flying. :P

yes the typical cheapo valve spring compressor isnt ging to do the job on the dohc vtechhhhhhhhhhhhhhh motors

Those damn keepers. I recommend if you do do it lay down a clean white cloth or sheet has I will promise you will have problems the first time you do it and will lose a keeper or two and good luck finiding them in a mess

you can do it on but its a major bitch

pulling the head is your best bet. Might has well get a nice valve job while the head is off and if the funds allow some basic port work

Re: Skunk2 intakes

The funds arent good right this sec...but soon....
Whats the usuall price range for portwork and stuff??

Might as well go with over size valves....and other good stuff :y
Id like a block guard as well...
jus to be on the safe side

Cant i jus get a head already done for the same price as all that??
