Me and a buddy asked this same ? on RPR and our answer was "Its not worth it". We had plans on building a Grassroots challenger. We had a 1st gen body and lots of d-series laying around in case of mistakes. By the looks of the pics it doesnt look to difficult, but with out jobs welding and fabbing is a must. We were gonna try to boost and spray.

EG S20 inner CV's with stock axles and stock outer CV's.
