D-VTEC is no advantage, not even to the hp per psi crowd. D-VTEC cam is, though.

Y7 with cam and IM swap = teh win

what do you mean by d-vtec cam? you cant put a vtec cam in a non vtec head can you. if so that is new to me

maybe he means there is no advantage of d-vtec unless you upgrade the cam?

Yeah, but the Y7 isnt vtec to begin with, J.D. what do you mean? What is a good cam for the Y7?

Y7 is crapwagon cam meant for no power. Get something more akin to Y8 VTEC profile, and you'll be happier.

What cam do you suggest? I have 0 experience with D-series cams.

Hell if I know, you have a Y7. The B7 guys I send them to an A6 or mild NA cam.

I tuned a D16Y7, it died off up top like a B7.

Died off up top? My B7's got nothin till about 5k, it will pull real hard up to 7200 which is where I stop reving it. I've got 12psi at 2800 rpm or so and the higher I rev it the harder it pulls.

Anyway thanks for the info, i'll look into a decent cam for the Y7, I think I'll go with that.
