I have a proform and I have tried every wire possible, the blue one at the dizzy, the one on the shock tower, the tach output at the ecu, none of them work right for me with the proform, the light has to be set all the way down for it to go off around 7k. Have not messed with it a lot yet but I too need to figure it out.
The point of the light is for consistency when drag racing, Its not easy to hear the diff between say 6700 and 7000 (especially when you paying attentions to a ton of other things) and hitting the rev limiter is a no no. Sure you can use the speedo but in a decently fast fwd with healthy torque steer im more worried about watching the track in first and second gear and not having to worry about looking down.

White wire-ECU<--tried this, does not work
Look at the dizzy and there will be two wires that come out at the top then continue down to a plastic plug that then plugs into the harness. There is a blue and white one. Splice into the blue one.
If you don't want stray wires hanging round the dizzy, you will have to take off the instrument cluster and tap into the blue wire (same wire from distributer) that goes into the tach.
Connect ground to any part of chassis
Connect positive to the plug on the fuse panel. There are two plugs at the very top-middle of the fuse panel. The one on the left hand side creates + only when headlights are on. The one on the left creates + when the ignition is on. Hope that helps...
