shift linkage

Can you just use a regular punch to knock out the spring pin in the shift linkage ?

Yes. That's the only tool I've used.

You don't need any special tool to do this, they will just make it a little easier. Anything you can fit in there and smack the pin out with is fair game.

Bone, what exactly is the purpose of the pin? I mean, why did they use that bitch *** thing instead of a bolt?

I have an allen key I always use. I always just pull it out with it on and when the motor is out is when I punch it out

you can use an exhaust bolt also the one that takes the spring. 8mm hole then how the hell do I use 12mm bolts? that size keeps the side to side play down
