sequential gearbox, crx
hi,
I'm having an idea lately since the gearbox of my 2nd gen crx is braking down on me.......is a sequential gearbox ever done before on a honda D-engine, or any other honda ?
I think it would be cool to make/get me a close ratio sequential gearbox for the crx.....i mean..its possible thats for sure, but does anybody know if its ever done before ?? I know its a pretty wild idea....but maybe i mean...it would be bad ***
kind regards,
Roy

Re: sequential gearbox, crx
you will need thousands of dollars to make it happen. there is no simple HMT way of rigging up a motorcycle transmission to do it. it will cost(and i do mean this literally) 15x's or more what you have into your crx
but here is a link anyway

EDIT: i dont know how i forgot abuot this one either

no i can honestly say that im not a noob shifting :P hell i never even drove a automatic. I just think its cool to have a sequential on a crx.....
Would also like one on the SW20 MR2, especially for drifting....

Re: sequential gearbox, crx
If you'd like, you could do a zc/si hybrid. This is a fairly common swap.
zc trans has a short 1-5 but tall axle ratio
si trans has a tall 1-5 but short axle ratio
use zc 1-5 with si final. Granted it's not ideal, but it can be done for about $250
